Bhutan, Nepal, India And Alaska Photography Tours

All of my photo tours are designed at a slower pace with ample time to stop and photograph as you desire.  Experienced guides, quality establishments and an authentic experience are what’s in store on these unique adventures! Once the tour is over, the learning does not stop. I will be available to help you with editing questions via email and video chat to insure your images represent the wonderful experiences these countries offer.

NEPAL

Exploration of Nepal begins in the bustling, lively, crowded city of Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital. We’ll spend a couple of days shaking off the jet lag while visiting sacred Buddhist and Hindu sites and stocking up on last minute supplies. Then it is off to the Himalayas for 14 or 18 days days of trekking from teahouse to teahouse. All overnight gear is carried on dzokyos (a cross between a yak and cow) and you are left with only a day pack to shoulder. We stop frequently and get up early to capture the best times to take advantage of the stunning Himalayan light.

Mount Everest, Buddhist stupas and monasteries, deep valleys, towering peaks. And the people who make this land so special. All of this is waiting in Nepal for those who wish to sense a bit of adventure in their photographic journeys. Daily trekking is involved and participants must be in decent physical shape.

Price includes all accommodations, meals, permits and flights within Nepal. Not covered is transportation to Kathmandu, personal items and insurance. Packing list and cultural introduction packet will be sent when deposit is received.

BHUTAN

Bhutan is the only country on the planet to measure Gross National Happiness and our tour in the country will be a mix of culture and scenery. A home stay will be made available to help immerse in the real life inside of Bhutan, not just what the tourist circuit has to offer. Rich in Buddhist culture, we will visit holy sites and pristine national lands. Each day will start early to take advantage of the golden light at sunrise and each day will end soon after the setting sun.

This tour does not require the same physical stamina as the Nepal Tour as we will be driven between towns and sites in 4×4 vehicles. All accommodations are included in the price as well as all meals and in-country transportation. Packing list and cultural introduction packet will be sent when deposit is received.

The tours in 2012 will target specific festivals to increase cultural interaction and shooting opportunities.

ALASKA

In August of 2012 I will be working with American Safari Cruises to offer instruction aboard the newly renovated Safari Endeavour as we sail the Inside Passage of Alaska.

The “Un-Cruise” is 7 nights of classic Alaska wilderness as seen from a smaller ship with a limit of 86 guests and many luxury appointments. The all-inclusive package includes premium wines, professional photography instruction, shore excursions and more. And when I say “shore excursion” it’s important to note the Endeavour does not make any port calls. Instead, passengers will be taken ashore via skiffs to explore the true Alaskan wilderness only possible on a smaller vessel.

The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of time for whale watching or a hike in the Tongass National Forest. We’ll be spending time in Glacier Bay National Park with a park ranger on-board to answer questions.

For more information and to register for the cruise, please contact American Safari Cruises at 1-888-862-8881 or reference their website.
