Orange County & Puget Sound Wedding Photography

Your Wedding Day will be an exciting, memorable event you will reflect upon fondly for decades to come. The cornerstone of sharing your special day’s memories is highly dependent on the photographer entrusted with capturing the magic. You want a photographer with experience and skill. Someone who is easy to work with and fully understands your desires. Someone who will capture the feel, the energy, the excitement, the planned and spontaneous activities of the day in a way you will be proud to share with others during the years to come.

I have been shooting weddings for over 23 years and understand the importance of the trust you place in my hands as your wedding photographer. This starts long before the wedding day with an introductory meeting, a chance for all parties involved to get to know each other. I’ll have a number of questions to help me understand your desires for your wedding day and that’s the most important aspect of my job; understanding how YOU want your wedding shot.

I take a photo-journalistic approach to wedding photography, incorporating traditional, formal shots, but also mixing in natural and candid shots that truly represent the day’s activities. Adaptable and fun, I’ll be responsible for making sure the cherished moments are captured along with the unexpected magic the day brings. No two weddings are the same and I’ll make sure yours is not shot in a cookie-cutter fashion, but will instead draw from my years of experience to allow me to photograph the day as it unfolds naturally in all its splendor. How did Peter help you feel comfortable during your wedding day?

Peter was a true joy to work with. He just made everything incredibly easy. Not only did he join us for our informal “rehearsal” dinner, but he chatted with our friends and family beforehand to learn more about us and them. On the wedding day, I never really noticed his presence (which is how a good photographer should be). He made sure all of my “requested” shots were taken. Peter does his homework: he knows what you want prior to the wedding day so that he is not asking you questions about it the day of, yet he made a point to check in with us just enough. It was a great balance and we were able to easily get his attention to get a particular group shot or to ask him a question on the fly.

Was he up front with prices, schedule, wedding day timing and was he responsive to your emails, calls and change requests the day of the wedding?

Yes! Peter is a complete and thorough professional. We were a “long-distance” wedding, so we did some Skype chats to “meet” and make preliminary plans. He was up front about all the details. He was also very responsive to emails and phone calls throughout the planning process.

What was your favorite photo from your wedding day?

It’s hard to choose one…! I loved many of the candid shots from our ceremony. Peter has a way of capturing truly wonderful moments: walking down the meadow with my parents and greeting my partner at the top of the aisle; the shot of our community supporting us, arms up and our smiles wide; our elated expressions as we were pronounced married. I also loved his shots of the setting – the still-lifes, if you will. He captured all the little details perfectly. The list goes on!

Would you refer your friends and family to Peter for their wedding photography needs? If yes, why?

Yes, because Peter is not only a wonderful photographer, but a great person to work with. He offers his talents and service for an affordable rate; his quality, attention, and personal nature is hard to find in the world of wedding photographers. But most of all, he goes above and beyond the call of a photographer. Peter reaches out to his clients as a friend. For us, he offered to hand deliver our photos to family in Nepal when he was traveling there for work. He is truly remarkable and a pleasure.

How did Peter help you feel comfortable during your wedding day?

Peter did a great job helping us feel comfortable and relaxed as possible on our wedding day. One thing we really appreciated was that he came by the night before to say hi and scope out the wedding venue (my aunt’s home). It gave us some time with him and also helped us make a plan for the actual day so we knew what to expect. He was open to all our ideas and helped us achieve our goals when it came to great wedding photos. We opted to drive to a nearby beach for some photos before the wedding and Peter drove us there which may seem like a small gesture, but was something that we greatly appreciated. My now husband had already forgotten his suit and injured himself trying to open a can of shoe polish that morning so needless to say, we were a bundle of nerves! Having Peter take charge and get us where we needed to be allowed us to not only take a few deep breaths and calm down, but also have a few moments to relax and enjoy the whole experience. We wanted the day to be fun and relaxed and Peter played a huge part in making that happen!

Was he up front with prices, schedule, wedding day timing and was he responsive to your emails, calls and change requests the day of the wedding?

Peter was honest about everything. From his prices, availability and timing to when we would get our finished photos, Peter was upfront about everything – we had no surprises – and he was willing to work with our budget. He was always very responsive to our emails and calls even with his busy schedule which we always appreciated.

What was your favorite photo from your wedding day?

There are so many to choose from! One that really stands out for us is a photo that Peter captured of us as we walked back down the aisle after the ceremony. He captured the essence of the moment – we were overjoyed, relieved, excited, etc. and it showed on our faces. It wasn’t a formal, posed photo, but one that was spontaneous and full of happiness and we absolutely love it. We also loved all of the photos that he took of us at the beach – particularly one close up where we are grinning from ear to ear. We were comfortable, happy and silly and it made for great photos. We also treasure the candid shots that Peter took of us with our 1 year old goddaughter – Peter was great with photographing a squirmy baby! The best part about receiving our photos from Peter was seeing how much he captured and how the photos really told the story of our day. We opted to use Peter as the single photographer and we were amazed at how many different angles he captured our ceremony from – and we never even noticed him running around! We made a list of all the important shots that we wanted and Peter made it happen.

Would you refer your friends and family to Peter for their wedding photography needs? If yes, why?

Absolutely! And we have! Not only does Peter have experience photographing weddings, he takes creative and thought-provoking photos on the other side of his business and that really appealed to us. His creativity easily crossed over into our wedding photos and we loved it!   From our first meeting, we felt like Peter’s professionalism, creativity and easy-going attitude made him the perfect fit for us and our wedding.

What was your favorite wedding photo?

There were so many to choose from. There is one of me with my husband, Dave, with this huge smile and I’m just hugging him, probably crying. There is also one that is outside of Salty’s looking into the venue which seems to capture the spirit of the evening. I think that might be my favorite.

How did Peter avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?

Peter just seemed to know where to be and did a great job of managing all the ‘formal’ shots that family wanted. We got that all done quickly and were on our way. The rest of the night he was everywhere. I was surprised to see so many great, candid shots of all our family and friends.

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?

We really enjoy having the DVD. This is giving us tons of time to decide what to have printed out and for whom. Its a great memory.

How did Peter make you and family comfortable?

My mother is still talking about what a great job Peter did and how nice he is. It was so great to see his enthusiasm for the event also. Clearly it is a passion of his.

What was your favorite wedding photo?

We have so many favorites it is hard to pin it down to just one. We loved the ones he captured of us with our wedding parties. We have a favorite of the two of us dancing in front of the fire place which was not planned.

How did Peter avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?

The photography did not disrupt our day at all. I didn’t even notice Peter was there half of the time. I was amazed at all of the shots he got throughout the night that I would never have seen otherwise. The candid and action shots were definitely our favorites.

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?

All we asked for was Peter to take great pictures and we received a DVD with them on it. We were on a budget and Peter really worked with us so we could get what we needed.

How did Peter make you and family comfortable?

Peter was a natural with my family and friends. He put everyone at ease and especially during the posed portraits. He made them very painless and effortless. We really enjoyed having him as our photographer and he made it very fun.

What was your favorite wedding photo?

There is a photo of my husband watching me walk down the isle and I am so happy that Peter captured that moment!

How did Peter avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?

I didn’t even know he was there yet he managed to get great candids as well as the little details! He took some amazing artistic shots of the Inn and the beautiful surroundings that I would have never thought to request.

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?

We were able to order the prints online in any size and format and the pictures were also on a CD. It was great because family members could also log onto the site so that they too could order the wedding pictures they wanted

How did Peter make you and family comfortable?

He was great! No worries, and we were so happy with the results!

What was your favorite wedding photo?

No one favorite, but the candid shots during the ceremony were amazing.

How did Peter avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?

I didn’t even know he was there, and we had a very small wedding. looking at the pictures he got i just couldn’t believe he was physically located in a spot to take the picture, he was so unobtrusive. And he got pictures of real feelings, real people, very natural.

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?

All the pictures were posted on a website where we could order prints, and we also got a CD of all of them.

How did Peter make you and family comfortable?

He just handled it. We didn’t have to even think about anything.
