Do you have a digital camera and want to understand how to use it? Do you yearn to learn how to take better pictures in a relaxed, fun atmosphere? Want to know about shutter speed, aperture and ISO? Do you have an inkling that ISO, shutter speed and aperture may be important things to learn but aren’t sure how it all works?
Then this workshop is for you!!
This class will teach the basics of understanding the interplay of light, aperture, shutter speed and ISO. We’ll also talk about creative use of these elements to achieve the shots you are looking for. We’ll cover such topics as:
- Why are my pictures so blurry?
- How can I frame my images better?
- Understanding the limits of digital photography
- How a Histogram can make your pictures better
- When to use Aperture, Shutter Speed and Manual Modes
- Focus distance and depth of field
- Why your camera doesn’t always behave like it should
- Any specific topics important to you!
- The Rule Of Thirds
- The Golden Hour and using outdoor light
- Breaking the rules when it works for you
The workshop also includes 1 year of free email critiques and followup. I want to make sure the ideas presented in the workshop stick and will keep in touch to cover any additional questions you may have, as well as constructively critique photos you have shot.
This workshop is most beneficial for those with a camera that allows selection of Aperture, Program, Shutter Speed or Manual modes (all DSLRs and most advanced Point & Shoot cameras). While certain point and shoot cameras without these modes will benefit from the theory, there may be less opportunity for application of the ideas presented. Please email me if you have questions if this workshop is right for you.
BONUS: The workshop will include a PDF copy of both ebooks: Photography Basics – A 43 Day Adventure and 40 Photography Experiments, a $15 value.

Less than two weeks and there is no refund possible, although I will gladly transfer your enrollment to another workshop at any time for no additional cost. Past Student Testimonials
Nicole – “My knowledge level is certainly ‘entry’ and I thought the information was just what I needed to grasp the fundamental information.”
Divya – “Peter did a great job with explaining the various concepts required to become a better photographer and was patient in answering all our questions. Would highly recommend this class to anybody starting out with a digital SLR camera.”
Sara – “I think my photos are already better and I definitely was able to learn and understand how some of the settings on my camera I originally left alone can impact my photos. Specifially metering. “
Lori – “This definitely helped me get over my reluctance to work with AV and TV modes on my Canon. With the various settings of “Landscape, Portraits, and Flowers” of the Canon, I have gotten by making reasonable photos. Now I have the confidence to photo by my own rules.”
